Virtual travel: how to spend a tourist weekend at home

What do travels during a pandemic look like? The answer is simple: there are no travels. But you can invite a friend, light a fireplace, make tea, make sandwiches, pick up a globe and start virtual travels through space and time. There will be enough firewood for a long time, there is no end in sight of self-isolation, the conversations are slowly...

Travellizy Team invites every tourist to spend a perfect weekend right on the couch. How to do this, read our traveler's weekend schedule.

Breakfast overlooking Abbey Road

9:00 - 10:00

Abbey road

We invite you to start the day with a hearty typical English breakfast, which includes bacon, scrambled eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, and toast with butter. Without even trying, but just reading this, we travel virtually to a tiny cafe on Abbey Road in London.

It is on this street that the famous recording studio is located! It recorded the legendary Beatles. Travelers always try to replicate the same shot, interfering with the passage of motorists who patiently wait or nervously honk.

A walk on the Niagara Falls Observation Tower

10:00 - 12:00

Niagara falls

You can listen to the wonderful sounds of Niagara Falls, even if you are actually on the old continent. Isn't that wonderful?

The webcam is located high above Niagara Falls in the Falls View area and is pointed directly to a massive horseshoe-shaped waterfall from the Canadian side.

Niagara Falls is one of the world's most powerful falls, not in height, but in terms of the volume of falling water, which averages 750,000 gallons per second.

A visit to the Louvre

12:00 - 13:00

If you are tired of the noise of the water and walking by Niagara Falls, it's time to move to one of the world's best museums. Art, history, travel and adventure - in this most visited museum, you can find a place to your liking. Among its collections are exhibits from antiquity and ancient civilizations up to 1848 from all over the world.

Thanks to virtual travel, the Louvre is now more spacious than ever. And this is incredible. The exhibits, of course, are impressive as always. Mummies are resting, diamonds are growing before our eyes, the crown of Louis XV awaits a worthy head. "Le Scribe accroupi" ("The Seated Scribe"), who is considered to be the Egyptian Mona Lisa, writes a letter to the original Mona Lisa, and she smiles at him mysteriously.

Lunch in Times Square

13:00 - 14:00

Times square

Are you hungry enough? It's time to have lunch. For this purpose, we suggest taking a walk and buying food at a local cafe in Times Square. It is difficult to visit New York and not see the world's famous square, one of the symbols of the city.

Times Square, named after the New York Times, doesn't really look like a square. The square itself is located at the intersection of Broadway and 7th Avenue. The geometric shape of the square is not a rectangle, but rather two aligned triangles that run north-south from 45th Street.

The main thing that a traveler can see here is huge advertising signs. Incredibly, they are the main thing that makes the square what it really is. Signs are very important to Times Square, so since 1993, signs have been placed on facades as directed by the mayor. Disney, Coca-Cola, Hard Rock Cafe, M&M's, Revlon and many other world famous brands pay millions of dollars to rent advertising space.

Relax in the Maldives

14:00 - 16:00

The Maldives is recognized as the country with the flattest relief, the highest point is not more than two meters above sea level. The archipelago includes 1190 islands. It will take a person three years and three months to visit each one for at least one day.

A walk in space

16:00 - 18:00

Let's travel further, but in order not to get tired of the streets and beaches, we suggest diving into more interesting corners of the planet. We offer you to feel yourself like a spaceship crew.

The American Space Agency (NASA) broadcasts what is happening from the outdoor webcam of the International Space Station (ISS). In addition to the video, where possible, the transmissions include negotiations between the specialists from the Earth in charge of the current mission and the astronauts. Audio and video broadcasts are also carried out during the station's docking with other spacecraft and astronauts into outer space.
